What's up party people. Looks like I'll be spending another New Years Eve with my BFF Katy Perry, and after four years they just keep getting bigger and better.
I hope your spending your NYE with someone special. Please be safe and don't drink and drive! I'm serious!
Wow, Britney just may be back. She looks so fabAless! I think the cover's kind of boring. It looks like a first year graphic design student did this. Mia Moretti you need to hook our girl Britney up!
Britney's gift to herself on her birthday December 2nd is the album release of"Circus." Just in time for Christmas!
WELCOME TO MIA MORETTI'S AND MARKUS MOLINARI'S FUN HOUSE
If you didn't read your LA Times party guide section, or didn't receive one of the hundreds of invites that Mia and I sent out, then you may not have known about the party to be at for Halloween. Although you could have been stuck in a taxi for an hour and a half like fellow heroes Shannon and Andrew. Or maybe you just couldn't get to our party. Not to fret, we had an amazing time, and we had enough friends to pack the place and get freaky. SBar was a hit!
Birthday girl Katy Perry came as the late Freddie Mercury. While Capitol's very own Angelica Cobb came as Jacki O. Oooo what a grand time we had!
Hair stylist Aaron Light went as Andy Warhol. Singer Ferras went has David Bowie from The Labyrinth. DJ Mia Moretti being a muse in her own right came as Andie Warhol's muse Eddie Sedgwick.
Male model Rob Williams won the $1,000 dollar check for best costume. He went as Flava Flav. Congratulations Rob!
I really didn't follow Katy's rule on coming as someone dead in life or in career, Hollywood- wise. John and I, in a last minute costume change went as the dead poo from the critically-acclaimed, high art film "2 girls, 1 cup."
Miley Cyrus celebrated her 16th-ish birthday two nights ago at Disney Land. The funny thing is that Katy Perry and fellow Hero Shannon Woodward planned on going to Disney Land right before they realized Miley was having a party. So we gott our DJ Mia Moretti and headed to the best place on earth. Can I tell you that this has been one of the best weekend enders with "OUR" BFF Katy Perry. Thank you Miley for having us and introducing me to Justin your boyfriend. We had soooo much fun!!!
Amazing! Katy Perry and OUR dear dear friend designer Brian Lichtenberg The Best house party picture. I see Katy talking to designer Brian Lichtenberg. Josh Groban saying good-bye to someone I don't know. We love JGro!!! The Lovely Lady GA GA and Katy Perry. DJ Mia Moretti with friend Leven Rambin. So Saturday night Katy Perry and I went to house party. What should have been a few drinks amongst friends and maybe a few game board games turned into a crazy house of crazy. Me teaming up with Lady GA GA for a walk-off against Katy P and Shannon W, later turned into someone Hulk Cogan-ing my t-shirt off. (I was really sad about that because it was my favorite Neil Barrett shirt so I took my assistant's shirt. Thank you Jonathan) It was just so much fun hanging out with friends and not dealing with any clubs and just being able to completely let go.
A very special thanks to Eric for letting us turn his house into a Romper Room.
It's Friday night and a girls gotta eat. So miss Katy Perry and I mass text messaged eight of our closes friends to meet us at Beso in Hollywood. After dinner we went upstairs for cocktail and yes we had a designated driver. My assistant Jonathan. After an amazing dinner at Beso we pumped on down to Teddy's in Hollywood to dance where world famous DJ Mia Moretii was spinning. I have to mention how amazing Kittle looked in her skin tight polka dot dress by Moschino. You're welcome x17.
So Friday night Terminator's Leven Rambin and Mia Moretti came over so I could dress them for this BlackBerry party in Bevery Hills. So we get all dolled up. Leven wore a dress from Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent and I wore my usual black on black. Anyways, you know those nights you'd rather just stay home and hang out with your friends than go out? Well this night, we realized that a little to late. But thank the Lord for subway and Pizza Bella! Or else Mia would starve; girl need a meal every hour!
Tonight my assistant Jonathan and my DJ Mia Moretti, along with miss Marcy, decided to go over to Katy Perry's hair stylist Aaron Light's house and have us a dinner and a movie night. We had wine and ordered Italian. We listened to music by Grand Marnier, Yelle, and Duffy. All perfect for a dinner party. The movie of choice was Valley Of The Dolls. Soooooo Goood.
This little music vixen has posted a new picture on her myspace that I had to give some attention to. Check more of Mad Hatter Moretti on her Myspace Page. You're welcome!
So this past weekend I went with my new fast friends Erin Lucas, Marissa Rubenstein and my old fast friend Mia Moretti to the Hamptons to meet up with the ultra fabulous super fashion icon Betsey Johnson. B.J. was showing off her 2008 eyewear to the Hamptons A-ish list-ish. The fashionista has a message for our 'lil cholita Katy Perry. Enjooooooy!
Katy P loved her gift Betsey. She whored it that night at her perfomance at Warped Tour in Englishtown, New Jersey
Ain't this some shit. So our good friend and awesome DJ Mia Morretti (aka DJ Group E) was minding her own damn business while walking down the streets of NY when out of nowhere, this brick/rock thing knocks her in the middle of her head mid-text. She's bleeding of course but manages to walk over to her friend's bar to get cleaned up. They called the paramedics but crazy-wonderful girl that Mia is, she refuses to go so she walks home after they clean it up! Well, while taking a second look in the mirror, she decides that the scarring would be pretty crazy so she ends up WALKING to the hospital to get it looked at. Well, THREE staples later and with no pain meds, the girl is iChating with me and telling me all about it. The whole thing is straight out of a movie. Hero that girl is. Hero.
Hello world and welcome to Markus is the Drug. This week has been a crazy party week. So I've been a little slow pumping out the dish. Oops! So let me share with you some of the highlights in my week starting with Tuesday. Ferras played an amazing show at the Viper Room. If you haven't heard Ferras' music yet I suggest you give his MySpace page a visit. Trust me, you wont be disappointed.
Wednesday W Magazine Celebrates The Academy Awards at the Sunset Towers. This particular party was great because I ran into a lot of my New York crowd. It just seemed to be the perfect kick off to what was going to be a crazy fun Oscar week. Chateau Marmont was the last stop and for good reason. You didn't need to go anywhere else. Ample amounts of champagne and a chocolate fountain is all I need for a party. Oh yes and a lil Karlifornia. Yes y'all I ran into my favorite MTV host Karli. Who busted some crazy Beyonce style dance move with Adrian Grenier.
Thursday Art of Elysium party at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This was my kind of party. 1940's Old Hollywood. The Stars went all out (and how could you not). Among my favorites were: Demi Moore looking very old Hollywood Glam in this amazing Roberto Cavalli gown Kate Hudson in Christian Dior a satin, off-the-shoulder gown but the hair I wasn't too crazy about; Charlize Theron was breath taking in this sheer Christian Dior gown with just a simple amount of jewelry...she looked Divine; Rumer Willis, in what was my favorite dress of the evening, was wearing her favorite, J Mendel, and looked beautiful.
Some looks I really didn't care for though: Rachel Zoe scares me and that's all I have to say about that; Molly Sims let me down with this bad Katy Rodriguez Dress; Salma Hayek bored me with this Alexander McQueen dress and a bad necklace, which I'm sure she only wore because it was free. That's all about that night. You're Welcome. Friday Night This was my big hang out night with fellow hero... Shaaaannoooon. We went to Teddy's. Nothing too crazy and at this point my liver is like, not one more ounce to drink. Eeeks! Sorry liver. Saturday I really wanted to rest this night but my friend Director Andrew Gallery called and said that he wanted to get a table at Green Door I said OK well maybe one or two drinks. Ha Ha four bottles later and a quick last minute stop at Hyde turned into a headache for Markus in the morning. Finally... Oscar Sunday Yes the big day was here but oh no, I really over did it the night before. So I knew the day was going to be rough. I sent out an SOS to Shannon who really turned out to be the hero of the day when she rescued me and took me to lunch at my favorite Joan's on Third. After a quick and much needed bite to eat I went back to bed for a quick re-coop session. 7:30, Jared Craft texts "Chateau Marmont 8pm". I dash to my closet for a tuxedo jacket and a bow tie. Yes I'm ready! We didn't stay at the Chateau long because we quickly made our way over to the Mercedes-Benz Oscar party at the Four Seasons. That's where I bumped into, for like the 10th time this week, my new favorite New Yorker Josh Katz. You know where we went next. HYYYYYYYYYDE! I even tricked, I mean begged, Katy P to come meet me and she did and then we did and we left to meet our very very good friend Mia Moretti who was having a celebration of her own. Her birthday that is. It didn't take me long to realize I jumped on that party train about 45 minutes to late. Oops. Did someone say Prince was having a Party? Yes Please! So off to what seemed like the Oregon Trail up to Prince's house. Now this was the party y'all. First Stevie Wonder performed and then Prince. Hello it was Prince! This was really a special night. My mom tells this story about twenty years ago she went to see Prince in concert in Oakland and he threw his drumstick out in to the crowd and she caught it. He didn't throw his drum stick but he did throw and amazing party. Everyone was there... P Diddy, Jeremy Piven, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem, Rumer Willis, Rosario Dawson and even the Hyde gatekeepers Jen Rosero and Pamela Francesca made it out to enjoy Prince.
Started off with me styling Ferras for a Pre-Grammy party night. He wore a Ted Baker suit, white Versace button up, Silver thin Chanel tie, Black D&G dress shoes. Me, I stuck to my favorite blue velvet vintage Yves Saint Laurent jacket, white V-neck shirt, black skinny jeans, and patent leather dress shoes. Oh hey. So off we went to our first party stop, the AAM party at Paramount. Mostly industry but we met up with Katy Perry, Dr.Luke, and Mia Moretti. Did the rounds of saying hello then Dr.Luke generously gave us his limo to take to the Mark Ronson party at the Roosevelt in Hollywood. After Mark played a great show he had the party moved over to Teddy’s were his sister Samantha Ronson was DJing. Teddy’s was a blast and it didn’t take long for Mark to take over the turntables. Yesss.
Children, I'm sure y'all have noticed my lack of blogging this weekend but this social whore had to make the rounds. Thursday I took Golden Brooks to a tastemakers listening party for Ferras where we were witness to an emotional, tearful, and enthralling performance. Then it was off to dinner at Katsuya in Hollywood where Golden ran into "Girlfriends" castmate and friend Tracey Ross. After being mauled by the Paparazzi we scooted over to the In Style party at BLVD 3 but just for a quick pump around because we had to make it to the Katy Perry show at the Viper Room. The LA Times review on Katy's show:
...it was impossible to deny the charisma and chops of L.A.-based Katy Perry on Thursday night at a very packed Viper Room. A musical diarist in the vein of January's diva-of-the-month, Kate Nash, Perry infuses her boyfriend-bending pop with plenty of bite and, for her age (22), a healthy dose of self-awareness. The Santa Barbara native will have a lot of appeal among the teen masses -- and maybe among those whose attention spans run longer than your average text message.
That's my girl! So back to the Friday, oh no this was all Thursday night, ish. So Golden didn't make it to the show but dropped me off but I did find my other partner in crime, Matt Dallas.
Matt and I kidnapped Katy P from everyone and went back to the In Style party, oh vay!. There I ran into Shelter's Trevor Wright and Summerland cast mate Jesse McCartney who told me he was just about to record his first video, with Shawn Kingston, for his new album. Next stop, Hyde, for its 80's Thursdays y'all. That was not the last stop because DJ Group E./Mia Moretti was spinnin it over at S Bar. So bam! S Bar it was. That’s where we lost Matt Dallas but Katy and I wanted to keep the party going, keep in mind this was the first time we had seen each other in person in weeks. So we hailed a taxi and blazed it to a house party in the hills.
Not done yet, we ended the night at James Valentine's house. Mark Ronson, James V., and a few more other people I dare not say their names (only because I don’t remember them). Hehe. So after the boys played and "jammed" we traveled down the hill to the Chateau Marmont where, now Grammy winner, Mark Ronson was staying. Mark made sure I had everything I needed: pillow? Check. Comfy couch? Check. Water? Check. Blanket? Check. BBC's Doctor Who? check. I was all set. He's so hospitable. So that was my Friday... I mean Thursday. I’m afraid to start Fridays post.
Josh Groban is "HUGE"! His Christmas album is doing better then miss Shmitney Smears. Josh's album is #2 Shmitney's album is #23. Josh Groban was scene last Wednesday night at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood dancing to the music of DJ Group E....
