WELCOME TO MIA MORETTI'S AND MARKUS MOLINARI'S FUN HOUSE
If you didn't read your LA Times party guide section, or didn't receive one of the hundreds of invites that Mia and I sent out, then you may not have known about the party to be at for Halloween. Although you could have been stuck in a taxi for an hour and a half like fellow heroes Shannon and Andrew. Or maybe you just couldn't get to our party. Not to fret, we had an amazing time, and we had enough friends to pack the place and get freaky. SBar was a hit!
April Matson- My good friend and co-star Matt Dallas and I were killing time on set the other day and perusing MarkusIsTheDrug as we do every day on set together. Among all of the other wonderful things Markus keeps us abreast of, we get to keep tabs on what Katy Perry is up to and what people are saying about her. I’m a big fan of Katy’s and an acquaintance of hers whom I have the utmost respect for. This is the main reason I felt so compelled to express what has been going through my mind ever since I saw the Fox News clip shaming Katy for her supposed poor influence on America’s youth. Which, might I add, I don’t remember being so sexually pure up until the release of “I Kissed A Girl”.
Just the day before this “breaking news” (thank God they covered this what with nothing else going on in the world more important to discuss) Matt and I were looking at Katy’s outstanding new website when he turned to me and said “How fun to be Katy Perry. She gets to carry out her dream by having fun and being herself.” He was absolutely right. I’m not sure if I’ve ever met a young woman so authentic and I’ve definitely never met a girl who was so authentic and had this kind of career because of it. Katy writes her own songs, has her own fabulous sense of style, a tremendous work ethic and all the while has more fun doing it than one could imagine. She’s a good friend to her friends, a captivating performer, a true artist and happens to be really, really, really good at playing Taboo. (Is this the proper time to use the word IRONIC? I’ve been confused since Alanis used the term.)

Children, I'm sure y'all have noticed my lack of blogging this weekend but this social whore had to make the rounds. Thursday I took Golden Brooks to a tastemakers listening party for Ferras where we were witness to an emotional, tearful, and enthralling performance. Then it was off to dinner at Katsuya in Hollywood where Golden ran into "Girlfriends" castmate and friend Tracey Ross. After being mauled by the Paparazzi we scooted over to the In Style party at BLVD 3 but just for a quick pump around because we had to make it to the Katy Perry show at the Viper Room. The LA Times review on Katy's show:

That's my girl! So back to the Friday, oh no this was all Thursday night, ish. So Golden didn't make it to the show but dropped me off but I did find my other partner in crime, Matt Dallas.
Matt and I kidnapped Katy P from everyone and went back to the In Style party, oh vay!. There I ran into Shelter's Trevor Wright and Summerland cast mate Jesse McCartney who told me he was just about to record his first video, with Shawn Kingston, for his new album. Next stop, Hyde, for its 80's Thursdays y'all. That was not the last stop because DJ Group E./Mia Moretti was spinnin it over at S Bar. So bam! S Bar it was. That’s where we lost Matt Dallas but Katy and I wanted to keep the party going, keep in mind this was the first time we had seen each other in person in weeks. So we hailed a taxi and blazed it to a house party in the hills.
Not done yet, we ended the night at James Valentine's house. Mark Ronson, James V., and a few more other people I dare not say their names (only because I don’t remember them). Hehe. So after the boys played and "jammed" we traveled down the hill to the Chateau Marmont where, now Grammy winner, Mark Ronson was staying. Mark made sure I had everything I needed: pillow? Check. Comfy couch? Check. Water? Check. Blanket? Check. BBC's Doctor Who? check. I was all set. He's so hospitable. So that was my Friday... I mean Thursday. I’m afraid to start Fridays post.
I styled Matt Dallas for this appearance. Matt's easy to dress for. He looks good in almost anything. He also has a good sense of what he likes and makes him feel comfortable at the same time he is willing to try new thing.

Eeks, what a weekend! The liver is killing me softly each additional weekend in LA, but sometimes I really do think it's worth it. This weekend was spent entirely with blog master himself, Markus Molinari. After a long day at the office Friday, I geared up with coworker Sarah Imparato to attend the show of everyone's favorite, Katy Perry, where I met up with friends Markus Molinari, Jessica Paster, Rob Williams, and Matt Dallas. After an intimate show with Katy, I sent myself to the new "It" spot, Villa, in West Hollywood with Sarah… awful; Markus went on to the Hotel Roosevelt/Teddys to meet up with Eve the rapper and his new Texas friends. I left Villa and met up with Rob and made my way to the 101 to meet up with Katy and Matt, where I ended my night.
Saturday night-
I woke up to two random girls in my apartment, neither of whom I knew; they ended up staying two days, "you're welcome". I made my weekend trip to Target with Erica Krupicka where I proceeded to spend money that I don't have in a way I had never intended to. I went and picked up Markus Molinari and Katy Perry to head to my friend Allison's where I met up with friend Fisher Pence; Allison was having an intimate dinner party for her business partner's 40th, in which Markus got to meet longtime favorite Paula Thomas of Thomas Wylde. After dinner, Markus,Katy, and I went on to meet up with Andrew Gallery at the Sofitel hotel; they were rude… don't go! Josh Groban swung by to grab Katy. So Markus and I made our way to the Hotel Roosevelt. Markus and I got acquainted with the drunkest one at the hotel who proceeded to continuously refer to us as his "brothers," homeboy lives in a studio in the Valley… ew. You had to be there. After the Roosevelt, we went on to Charlene Roxborough's to call it an evening with Rona Gaye Stevenson and Andrew Gallery.
Michael Bay is producing the remake of the classic horror film Friday the 13th. Rumor has it he wants Matt Dallas to star in it. This movie will be directed by Marcus Nispel and is set to release in February 2009.
Stars came out during the day, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Lindsey Broad, Matt Dallas, Alicia Keys and many more. Today the WGA brought the strike to Hollywood Boulevard. In all, the rally lasted about a half-hour, and will stand as WGA's last strike-related demonstration until the guild's talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers resume on Monday. After Alicia Keys performed two songs, several thousand participants began marching west on Hollywood Boulevard, led by a pair of Teamster trucks and a dozen LAPD officers on motorcycles and bicycles. Matt Dallas went to Spain to promote his hit show Kyle XY. On the show Kyle can pick up on languages in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately, Matt Dallas doesn’t have that luxury because he looked so confused in this video.
