LIFE IS A SEABRING...

So getting back to “normal” starts with me getting some wheels. So I went to Enterprise Rent-a-Car on Beverly and since I caught the bunny tail end of people gathering there for Easter weekend rides, all I was left with to choose from was the horrid PT Cruiser or the Chrysler Sebring. You know what I chose? That’s right! The Sebring convertible... white likes my pure white Christian soul. So now I’m cruising Sunset and you know I’m bringing it to Hyde! What it do-oo! So if you see me rolling with homies, throw me a shot out. Later baby boo’s.

OSCAR WEEK RE-CAP

Hello world and welcome to Markus is the Drug. This week has been a crazy party week. So I've been a little slow pumping out the dish. Oops! So let me share with you some of the highlights in my week starting with Tuesday. Ferras played an amazing show at the Viper Room. If you haven't heard Ferras' music yet I suggest you give his MySpace page a visit. Trust me, you wont be disappointed.

Wednesday
W Magazine Celebrates The Academy Awards at the Sunset Towers. This particular party was great because I ran into a lot of my New York crowd. It just seemed to be the perfect kick off to what was going to be a crazy fun Oscar week. Chateau Marmont was the last stop and for good reason. You didn't need to go anywhere else. Ample amounts of champagne and a chocolate fountain is all I need for a party. Oh yes and a lil Karlifornia. Yes y'all I ran into my favorite MTV host Karli. Who busted some crazy Beyonce style dance move with Adrian Grenier.

Thursday
Art of Elysium party at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This was my kind of party. 1940's Old Hollywood. The Stars went all out (and how could you not). Among my favorites were:

Demi Moore looking very old Hollywood Glam in this amazing Roberto Cavalli gown

Kate Hudson
in Christian Dior a satin, off-the-shoulder gown but the hair I wasn't too crazy about;

Charlize Theron was breath taking in this sheer Christian Dior gown with just a simple amount of jewelry...she looked Divine;

Rumer Willis
, in what was my favorite dress of the evening, was wearing her favorite, J Mendel, and looked beautiful.

Some looks I really didn't care for though:

Rachel Zoe
scares me and that's all I have to say about that;

Molly Sims
let me down with this bad Katy Rodriguez Dress;

Salma Hayek bored me with this Alexander McQueen dress and a bad necklace, which I'm sure she only wore because it was free. That's all about that night. You're Welcome.

Friday Night

This was my big hang out night with fellow hero... Shaaaannoooon. We went to Teddy's. Nothing too crazy and at this point my liver is like, not one more ounce to drink. Eeeks! Sorry liver.

Saturday
I really wanted to rest this night but my friend Director Andrew Gallery called and said that he wanted to get a table at Green Door I said OK well maybe one or two drinks. Ha Ha four bottles later and a quick last minute stop at Hyde turned into a headache for Markus in the morning.

Finally... Oscar Sunday
Yes the big day was here but oh no, I really over did it the night before. So I knew the day was going to be rough. I sent out an SOS to Shannon who really turned out to be the hero of the day when she rescued me and took me to lunch at my favorite Joan's on Third. After a quick and much needed bite to eat I went back to bed for a quick re-coop session. 7:30, Jared Craft texts "Chateau Marmont 8pm". I dash to my closet for a tuxedo jacket and a bow tie. Yes I'm ready! We didn't stay at the Chateau long because we quickly made our way over to the Mercedes-Benz Oscar party at the Four Seasons. That's where I bumped into, for like the 10th time this week, my new favorite New Yorker Josh Katz.

You know where we went next. HYYYYYYYYYDE! I even tricked, I mean begged, Katy P to come meet me and she did and then we did and we left to meet our very very good friend Mia Moretti who was having a celebration of her own. Her birthday that is. It didn't take me long to realize I jumped on that party train about 45 minutes to late. Oops. Did someone say Prince was having a Party? Yes Please! So off to what seemed like the Oregon Trail up to Prince's house. Now this was the party y'all. First Stevie Wonder performed and then Prince. Hello it was Prince! This was really a special night. My mom tells this story about twenty years ago she went to see Prince in concert in Oakland and he threw his drumstick out in to the crowd and she caught it. He didn't throw his drum stick but he did throw and amazing party. Everyone was there...

P Diddy, Jeremy Piven, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem, Rumer Willis, Rosario Dawson and even the Hyde gatekeepers Jen Rosero and Pamela Francesca made it out to enjoy Prince.

And now Promises...

...SATURDAY... SUNDAY ...

OK this is going to be a little shorter; you get the gist of the weekend right? Pump pump, pump!. Saturday group dinner at Casa Vega in Studio City. Thomas and I left the valley and went to Hollywood to rescue my girl Golden and friend Rainier we made a quick stop at Goa. This is not usually my cup of tea. Too much Hollywood. Believe it or not I can only handle so much of "the scene" but handle it I did. I always enjoy my small but deep talks with Golden. Oh I did run into Matt Dallas but quickly lost him in the crowd. Rumor has it Lindsey Lohan got a hold of him and would not let go. You're welcome Lindsey.

Grammy Awards Sunday Started off with Mia and I having breakfast at the Beachwood cafe. Then after we had an afternoon of internet nothingness/research, we got ready for our first party. We decided to hit up Warner Brothers first and we had amazing timing because just as we arrived JGro was just finishing up red carpet. As we did a few Champagne laps we ran into Katy Perry and Dr.Luke... We always do. Next party. Sony at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This was the party to be at: Clive Davis, Beyonce, John Mayer, etc. So after Mia hit up every buffet table we decided 1:15am would be a perfect time to go to Hyde. Hyde was packed but not super annoying. Janet showed up to dance with her man Jermaine Dupree. Very cute! She's taller then him. Last stop. Oh we picked up someone at Hyde, my friend Simon, and it was off to the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills. We arrived just in time to see Avril Lavigne stumbling out. When we got to the suite it took about 3 name drops before they let us in the small room. Soon after arriving, Paris arrived. I'm sure none to impressed with the size of the room she had us all leave to the next party. But I thought that would be pushing it to the edge so I called it a night.

I'M CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK

The New Pink Blackberry Pearl Smart phone that is. Yes y'all, I stepped out last night with my baby momma Golden Brooks. We met up with a few friends Alice Greczyn who was escorted my her beau Step Up 2: The Streets the streets Robert Hoffman. I also had a run in with Kyle XY's bad girl Jesse XX/Jamie Alexander.
I was most excited to see Milan, Italy pal Rosorio Dawson who I got to have a chat with about the not pink but red cause she's so passionate about. That’s AIDS awareness. I told Rosario that I had seen her special on the subject on MTV and she told me she was disappointed that it didn’t get the exposure that it needed. We talked about how with all the knowledge people have about AIDS the number of people getting it are still very high. I didn’t mean to break up a party with the seriousness of AIDS talk but it's important.

The evening wasn’t all seriousness, though... Golden and I then took the party to Bar Lubitsch where we met up with some Hollywood hipster. Not to stop the momentum of the party train, we later took it over to the super fun, always 80's music, always on Thursday, 80's at Hyde night were we danced the night away.

OMG. Mischa Barton is back to Blonde. Yes y'all saw this one at Hyde last night. I feel like MIscha Barton NY is totally different the the LA bitchy Barton. Well she is living up to the old Marissa we know and love. Last night at around 3am the former O.C. actress was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). JOSH GROBAN IS A HERO!

Guitar Hero that is. After what was supposed to be one holiday day drink with my BF Katy Perry and my new found friend Josh Groban at Sunset Blvd’s Bar Marmont, it soon turned into a couple of more Christmas Eve Eve drinks at Hyde, where I ran into my old Summerland pal Jesse McCartney. After we devoured some rather delicious french fries the Hero trio decided that the night was not over, so we flew on down to JGro’s casa and partook in what was my first Guitar Hero experience ever. Now I know what all the rage is about. I loved it. Even if I did suck, I plan to be so good at it come the New Year that I may even best the night's Hero Josh Groban.
